MONOTYPES
There is certainly no one method of doing monotypes. I use plastic plates to paint or ink and print with an etching press.
What I love about the process of creating monotypes is working in the negative to create the positive.
Monotype: A print pulled from a painting on a nonabsorbent plate, such as zinc, copper or plastic. Usually one impression is made.
Monoprint: If some part of the print is accomplished by using a stamp or etching into the plate and can be repeated then it is referred to as a Monoprint.
Chine Collé: Method of adhering thin pieces of colored paper to the larger printing paper at the same time that the inked image is printed.
